With a
lifelong fascination in the creative arts, I've enjoyed
learning how to make ideas come to life. Because of this,
I trained in graphic design to apply my creative skill to
digital technology. From there, I began my work in
illustration, graphic design, web design and 3D modeling.
After
working in design for a decade, I changed direction to
continue my work as a teacher of design and technology. As
a teacher I discovered the power of learning technology
and used e-learning platforms to design virtual classrooms
and manage the user's experience.
Now I'm
exploring virtual reality design and application. I see
the use of immersive design and VR development as the way
forward for creating impactful learning experiences that
teach through doing. With this in mind, I'm looking for
creative work within VR/AR design.
This model was made to be used as a low poly asset for video
games. It was modelled using a mirror modifier, allowing me to
build the model rapidly and symmetrically. With a limit of
1000 polygons to use in the creation of this model, UV mapping
was an important part of creating detail while keeping the
file size low.

VR Design &
Development
Using blueprints provided by Three Wheels Buddhist Temple, I
created an architectual visualisation of their Zen garden.
Using photographs taken at the garden, I created textures in
Photoshop for the 3D models that were created using Maya and
Unity. With the HTC Vive VR system, I tested the virtual
enviroment on a sample audience.
Using 3D Studio Max, I created this high resolution
technical model of the Jackson Flying V. I have the same
guitar at home and used it for reference when building the 3D
model. Bitmap graphichs were used for the Decepticon and
Jackson logos. All other textures were made using in-program
materials.

Character
Design/Concept Art
This concept art is based on a D&D character that I had
created and played. Takchak is a Halfling Druid/Ranger with a
velociraptor, Rhaksha, as a mount.

Virtual Tour
Creation
This work is part of making a 360 virtual tour for a
residential property. I took the 360 photography. Then I
Processed the images and made them ready for the virtual tour
software. I then assembled the virtual tour for use in
promoting the property.

Concept Art
This concept art is inspired by the classic Twilight Zone
episode of the same name. I created this work as an exercise
in Image-Based Lights and 3D effects within Photoshop. It was
created as part of a lesson in graphics.

I designed this poster to promote the work I had done within
an app development team, which included the user interface
design and prototype development.
